In the forefront of the materials revolution, cork is one of the greenest alternatives there is. Besides being waterproof, buoyant, elastic, fire resistant and unique in its appearance, it is a naturally harvested material, mainly originating in the cork oak forests. Cork is a plant based equivalent of leather in terms of its material characteristics, with none of the animal cruelty involved in the production of leather.
